The Autistic Realm Australia stands in solidarity with trans communities

The Autistic Realm Australia stands in solidarity with trans communities.

We condemn the actions of

  • anti-trans activists, for attempting to incite fear and spread misinformation about trans people, and for targeting trans children

  • Neo-Nazi groups, for their ideology of h

ate and exclusion, and for promoting hatred against trans and gender diverse people

To state the obvious - gender diversity and gender diverse children are real. Gender diverse people are up to 6 times more likely to be Autistic than the general population, so gender diversity is Autistic reality.

The Autistic Realm Australia wholeheartedly supports and validates gender diverse children and adults. Our stance is based on unconditional love for our Autistic children and for all our trans children, and is backed by large scale scientific studies* on Autism and gender diversity, and the broad and deep lived experience of Autistic people.

All children deserve unconditional love and acceptance. All trans people deserve unconditional

acceptance.

Therefore, we call on all Australians to:

  • support and validate all children of all gender identities and expressions

  • respect all diversity

  • reject and oppose hate, discrimination and exclusion against trans children and adults

We at TARA acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Country, and that operation and administration of this organisation takes place on the stolen, unceded land of First Nations.

We recognise the Traditional Owners' continuing connection to land, waters and culture and we pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Many thanks to Diedre from Blackfulla Revolution for their support and advice on our acknowledgement statement.

As marginalised minorities with a different story, but both with a long history of violence and oppression perpetrated against us, we stand together.
